Just wondering if there was any way to easily see a list of what new features are going to be in the 1.8 basic build and what new expansions (not existing/updated 1.77.1 ones) are already in development for it? I'd love to post suggestions but don't want to mention things that everyone here already knows is on its way but newbies don't.
Also: easy way to drool over the future
If there is already such a thread/list, just point me in the right direction

All planned features are now in the code. We're just doing a little more testing to be confident ourselves that there are no serious bugs, and then we'll announce a full code freeze (essentially the release candidate) and if no major bugs get found in that during testing, we'll make the release.
For 1.77's release the date got put back several times, including at least once after we had the official packages built and ready to go, when people discovered last-minute critical bugs - so that's all the information we can give out at the moment.

- Shipset Compatibility (lets you use 1.77-era replacement shipsets and get the benefit of 1.80's new features)
- Glare Filter (reduces sun glare)
- Asteroid Respawn (restocks asteroids without needing to leave the system)
- Communications Pack A (adds more NPC comms chatter)
- Navigation MFD (a useful multi-function display for in- and intra-system navigation)
- Useful MFDs (another MFD for quick access to information)
- Roles for Staer9's Shipset (does for the extra Staer9 ships what Shipset Compatibility does for the base game)
I think that's it for ones which are entirely new to 1.79/1.80, but I could easily have missed a few (and there are also ones like Norby's Gallery OXP and my Ship's Library OXP which were written with 1.80's features in mind but do still work with reduced functionality in 1.77)
