Hmm I'm looking into what to do for my next OXP perhaps I may look into this.

There's always the ships from Ramirez's [wiki]Executive SpaceWays[/wiki] OXP.

I suggest doing the model then picking a similar sized core ship, and see how many cabins that could fit, and have only a very small cargo bay 2-5 TC.
I'm sure with a script to re-add cabins/reduce the credits if they are sold would work to simulate the non-removeable cabins. That would force the player to have to do passenger missions.

I think I would be interested in having one myself!

I like this idea. I recommend at least 2 tons of spare space for picking up escape pods.

~10T hold, small, fast, powerful... maybe you're looking for a Fer-de-lance?
Hmm. The problem with the Fer-de-lance is that it's not really powerful. Its most striking feature is a distinct lack of energy banks. It looks like a mean machine (and don't forget the luxurious interior!), but when push comes to shove, it's lacking the punch to live up to its looks. All showy, but too little substance.

It might be ok but 480 000 (I believe that is the price, anyway) is a little much for OK ship. Although I met someone who had his fitted with a Zero-G Hot Tub. That would be pretty cool.

Though its shields are boosted as standard, which is the equivalent of at least two extra banks in terms of absorbing punishment, plus it has the best recharge rate on those banks. If it weren't so expensive that might actually be good compensation.

Not so far, that image was taken from the Newsletter when they were announced. I was thinking they could inspire you rather than to get a copy.

Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

I thought that I would post some pictures of a concept passenger ship I have been playing around with.

I've not really decided on either scale or specifications yet. Initial thought are that it would be roughly the same length as a python.

The ship I envisage is a high luxury craft where the internal space is set aside to make the high paying messengers as comfortable as possible.

The idea being that if this ship is a passenger ship, perhaps to take tourists around the system or alternatively to other star systems the last thing a paying passenger would want is to get in to a fight.

Therefore the design of the ship should allow it to outrun most attackers, have injectors and decent shields to provide protection. Any reasonable weaponry therefore would probably be a rear laser to deter chasing craft. I am also thinking of limiting the ship to having forward and rear beam lasers only.

Regarding the specifications I was thinking along the lines of a fast ship with little cargo capacity or space for missiles.
