Can't set a lock! Help!

Hi!

I am not really sure if this is a bug or intentional functionality. Normally if I target a ship I get a green box around it and if I got attacked attacker automatically gets a lock. Yeh, I do have equipment that helps me with that. But occasionally I meet ships that do not get a lock on them and I cannot fire a missile and have to use manual aim with laser without a green box around a ship.

Sounds like you have some OXP ships that have Naval equipment that blocks scanner targetting.

Aye... Furball being one example, I think.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

What Naval equipment is that?

Oh yes! I do have Furball installed. Lets me scoop heaps of escape pods with almost no fighting.

Furball uses the Military Jammer for some ships.

If you also have a shipset that includes a certain invisible device, you will have a very frustrating time destroying them if they also have a jammer.

Note, however, that OXP creators are not encouraged to use this equipment for their ships, especially not as a standard equipment. It is not officially supported, even though it may be fully and correctly implemented in the code.

Personally, I make it a point to purge any mention of the two items in question from the shipdata of each OXP that I install. If I install such OXPs in the first place, that is.
