Not as standard no, the Python is an extremely old design. However some engineers have managed jury rig a connection to a modern shield enhancement, on their own ships (by checking out the old Shipdata.plist blueprints). Its not recommended due to the power requirements.

Lovely ship the Python - I ran one for a long time - but sadly no military shield option. Mind you they are pretty tough anyway with their seven energy banks.
Some of the (OXP) variants do have mil shields. Check out the Python Clipper, Python Courier and Python ET special.
