Folks,
Not sure who to address this to, but I'm going to be closing www.wagar.org.uk within the next few months in favour of www.drewwagar.com which means the link from the www.oolite.org homepage to Status Quo will break.
Currently the necessary files are duplicated on both domains.
The new link is http://www.drewwagar.com/downloads/book ... us_Quo.pdf
Can anyone update the link, or tell me who is responsible for Oolite.org?
Cheers,
Drew.

The website used to be maintained from Berlios I believe, but don't know what the move to Github will mean.
Someone will be along soon who knows.

Re: oolite.org link update
That oolite.org front page - would an image of a Griff Cobra III (possibly the alt version) with drive plumes be an improvement?
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Once Drew's new site is up and running (on the 16th of August I see), the links to the books on the Wiki will need to be updated.

Drew - I believe you also host "Alien Items" - will this also be affected? I have links to that scattered all over the 'net!

Re: oolite.org link update
Since Drew will (presumably) still own the wagar.org.uk domain name, all that should be necessary is to change the DNS entries to point to the new server and set up one or two 301 redirects to direct the old links to the new location.DaddyHoggy wrote:Drew - I believe you also host "Alien Items" - will this also be affected? HTTP 301 - Wikipedia
301 redirects - Webmaster Tools Help - Google Help
If the new domain is still hosted on the same server, it's even easier to set up.
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

Re: oolite.org link update
Thanks Jens!
I'll be applying the 301 redirects. www.drewwagar.com is on a new server (www.wagar.org.uk was creaking), but I will keep it up for a while so that Google gets a chance to catchup.
Alien items will get a featured page on the new site.
Stay tuned. www.drewwagar.com goes live at 8pm BST, Friday 16th!
Cheers,
Drew.
