I thought I had corrected that a long time ago. Sorry about that. If you use the new download link I put in above, it is the version that should take care of that. Thanks for the heads up.BuggyBY wrote:Is this incompatible with v1.76.1? Just got the following in my Latest.log:Code: Select all

Re: RELEASE: Genesis
[RELEASE]GenesisV2.0
The Genesis has long been one of my favorites, though it may not appeal to others. After flying it a few times recently, I began to pick out things about it that I thought could have been done better. It was one of my earliest ships, and even attempts to "straighten" it were not satisfactory. So, I reopened it in Blender, and tore it down, centering it better, matching edges closer, and reducing the size of the ball turrets. They always looked kind of big to me. I also rigged it up so the sensor dishes now rotate. 'Nough said. Please check my Wiki page for more photos, and details.

Re: RELEASE: Genesis
I have been attempting to upgrade this ship, as it was intended to have rotating sensor dishes, a slightly different texture, and smaller ball turrets. When I tried to exchange the smaller turret .dat file for the older, bigger turret .dat, it doesn't change in the game, and yes, I held Shift down to flush the cache. I've checked the .dat, and it is the correct, newer, smaller ballturret.dat. and I've checked to make sure the texture file is present, and correct, and it is.
I guess what I'm asking is, why doesn't the game change the size of the ball turret to the new .dat, and texture? Any wisdom on this to shed some light on my ignorance? Thanks.

Given the amount of time you spend working on new ships, I'm rather astonished that you don't have
always-flush-cache
set to 'yes' in your GNUstepDefaults file.
Code: Select all
<dict>
<key>always-flush-cache</key>
<string>YES</string>
</dict>

LOL!!!
The thing you need to know about me is that I'm fairly artistic, and even minored in art in college, but what you just said above shows how stupid I am when it comes to computer manipulation. Yes, I can get around well enough for my purposes, but I didn't even KNOW that I could have it on permanently. You can call me "Slick" when it comes to computers, because the logic of the things slides right off my brain.

Then I'm glad I just helped make your work a little simpler.. and now you know what other OXPers mean when they mention having a brick on their shift key!
(oh.. and the word isn't "stupid".. it's "un-knowledgeable", ok? Stupid, you ain't)

Well, whatever the case, thanks much for that little tidbit of knowledge. The dead is done, and it's a great idea.Diziet Sma wrote:Then I'm glad I just helped make your work a little simpler.. and now you know what other OXPers mean when they mention having a brick on their shift key!
