I'll have to adjust my glasses I thought that was a genuine picture of the 'Dirty Digger' (AKA Rupert Murdoch)

Re: Screenshots
Sweet... I now have a Griff Wolf Mk II in my garage.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

Re: Screenshots
That Wolf Mk II is a sweet looking ship - I have to investigate further, but first I have to ask about this garage that EV is referring to - I want a garage, where did you get a garage??pagroove wrote:Very cool ship!

Re: Screenshots
My garage exists within a chrono-synclastic infundibulum, which means it's always available to me at any main station. Currently, I own an Adder, a rustbucket Python, a Bug, two Cobra Mk III variants, an Asp Mk II, a Cobra Mk I, a Wolf Mk II... and a Constrictor X (a customised test-pilot's ship - very sporty).CommRLock78 wrote:I want a garage, where did you get a garage??

Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

Re: Screenshots
I found two ships jousting, so I watched them for a while, taking a few hits myself. Going at it hammer and tongs, they were!
During that pass, the inevitable happened. One ship rammed the other - and died in a glorious fireball!

EV, every time I see one of your screen shots, it reminds me of Dave Bowman's final words, "My God, it's full of stars!" I tried getting that many stars into my Ooniverse, but the frame rate suffered badly. Nice pic!

Have you tried it without nebulae? I've no idea how much nebulae affect frame rate, mind you... but I have it set to zero nebulae.CaptSolo wrote:I tried getting that many stars into my Ooniverse, but the frame rate suffered badly.

Re: Screenshots
The fireball is glorious. What's also nice is that the Cobra is glowing red.

Yes, without nebulae. I like nebulae: Only one or two, but scaled up so they appear to be neighbouring galaxies or the center of our own. By the way, I really like the stars in 1.77. I always thought size was too uniform in earlier versions of Oolite.El Viejo wrote:Have you tried it without nebulae? Re: Screenshots
Yes, nebulae are big time frame rate killers, as evidenced early on by the Bebege system (gal 2) in conjunction with Ionics OXP.CaptSolo wrote:Yes, without nebulae.
