Later, same girl using our newer all-in-one fax machine as a photocopier took out the ream of A4 turned it over in the tray and closed the tray again - her pages continued to come out blank - she hadn't considered that perhaps she hadn't put the sheets she wanted photocopying in the hopper face up as indicated by the drawing on said hopper... (she was perfect at answering the telephone which was her original and main job, but anything IT...)
Does she regularly go home, turn on the oven but leave the food in the cupboard. Then wonder why her kitchens full of smoke and she's still hungry 3 hours later?
This does suggest a fundamental disassociation between cause and effect. I think she should go get that checked out. That said no one likes to hear from a medical professional that they are not diseased, or run down; but they are in fact, just a bit of a sprout.

You go to a medical professional for that? I have a wife.

Cheers,

The medical professional doesn't require a constant supply of flowers and occasional precious stones...
If you were living in the US, the flowers and occasional precious stones would probably be the cheaper option..
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied
So, (of those who have bought Fusion and read it) thoughts? Personally, I think it's a great anthology - given how many stories are better than mine - I still feel very please to have been included.
If anybody who has bought, read and liked Fusion could leave a review on either of the Amazon's, or Smashwords that would be much appreciated - inevitably sales are dropping off and I'm in danger never having the joy of signing a physical copy... <sniff> <sniff> (no print run until 8K eBooks are sold)
Edit:
And, of course, I jumped straight to DH's and Drew's stories first!
Excellent writing, both of you guys! Thanks!
Now I'm off to check out some of the other stories.

For those in the UK only (I think) - an interview with mine and Drew's publisher (of Fusion) Dan Grubb: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p010jmxg 1hr 38m to 1hr 50m - very nice chap he is too.

Works fine from where I am right now (Germany)
Further feedback when I get home tomorrow...

perhaps iPlayer radio is a little more forgiving than iPlayer TV/video on location? (you can actually stream BBC radio stations from around the globe now I come to think of it - ex-Pats are always emailing in saying they're listening to breakfast shows while they're having their suppers...)
