Is there an upper limit on # of ships on splash screen?

So a while ago I noticed that the splash screen saying "Press Space Commander" after you decline the loading of a previous save, where you can rotate through the various ship models, did not display the latest OXP ships I had downloaded. The last one that displays before it rolls over to the initial Cobra Mk3 is an asteroid billboard from Your Ad Here!. Things like the Elbereth, Blimpy, FireAnt and Space Moth are not part of the rotation (no pun intended), and quite a few other ships I've encountered in-game aren't displayed there either. So I'm wondering if there is a cap on the number of models the game loads for that display, and with all the OXPs I've downloaded I've simply exceeded it. Or is there another reason, a bug in some plist perhaps?

No limit, but the oxp needs to put them on a special demoships.plist to explicit add it to the splash screen. And not all oxps want their work there.

e.g. you don't want some secret mission ships to appear on that screen. :wink:
