new imac intel core duo - no sound

Post by somemacuser »

just got one of the new intel imacs.
I don't get any sound at all out of oolite.
not a squeak - total silence.
Tried a search of the forums, got no relevant results at all.
Problem must just be me then?
Anyone know how I fix this?

Have you tried, once the game is loaded and you're sitting at the status screen:

- pressing F2
- check the volume level displayed - make sure it's set to max (you should see yellow bars like IIIIII by 'Volume')

This is Oolite's volume control (rather than the computer as a whole).

Urk. Anything in the log? (Open /Applications/Utilities/Console.app while running Oolite.)

Thanks for your help.
I got it sorted.

I was trying to turn the sound on by pressing the right arrow key, but being an idiot, I had failed to realise that i have to press f2 first while in dock before the arrow keys had any effect. D'oh!

(believe it or not) I did actually read the instructions, but somehow missed that the "options" heading was supposed to be a subheading under the "2 or f2" bit :)
