Fuel scoop

Post by bogdwell »

I just started playing and seem to have a problem. I have tried several different ships with a fuel scoop, but the icon never appears. am using version 1.76 on a windows 7 machine. Maybe I am missing something obvious. Any ideas?

First off, welcome to the boards. :)

The icon never appears? Strange. Are you using the standard HUD? A custom one might not include it, although most I know of do. Are you sure the fuel scoops are installed?

If none of the above is relevant, try checking the latest.log file, located in ~/.Oolite/Logs on Linux, although I'm not sure where it is on Windows or Mac.

If you still can't find the problem, and the icon is still missing, try attempting to scoop something. Who knows, the fuel scoops might be there, maybe it's the icon that's missing.

Have a look on the screen if it isn't shown in the two places indicated in the picture, something has gone very wrong somewhere. But just to check the obvious first, You did buy one didn't you?

Only for test flights. My player is still the S9, such a cool ship that is.

Hi bogdwell... welcome aboard. Just to double-check, open your save-file in a text editor and look for this entry (it'll be near the top):

Code: Select all

<key>EQ_FUEL_SCOOPS</key>
	<integer>1</integer>
If that's there, then the hud may be the problem... try using them, maybe. <scratches head>That's all I can think of as it's late here now... heh.
