Ending up dead in space

Post by dajt »

A couple of times now I have made a witchspace jump and ended up stranded, drifting helplessly.

I end up in empty space, with no thargoids or any other objects and the controls do not respond.

Anyone else seeing this?
Regards,
David Taylor.

That's not the controls did not respond - there is just no space dust nor sun and no objects for space compass to navigate..

But the stars would still move... and since the original post I have ended up in-system with the same problem.

The log files might reveal something about what's going on here. On Macs log entries are in in console.log I can't recall what it is in Windows, I'm sure someone will help me out...

On Linux/Win32 the log file is stderr.txt, located in the Oolite folder.

Stars do not move. Light moving dots are dust particles. There is no dust in witchspace.

There is no witch space. It was the light of Venus you saw.

If the controls are responding, you can rotate, which causes the stars to move.
