I don't consider this a big issue, and possibly almost a feature. A forced misjump should require "fiddling" with the ships "engine" and "buttons".
I've gotta agree with Gimi there... immersion-wise, having to 'fiddle' works.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Except of course, when you least want an accidental misjump to occur, like running from a fight, no rear shields, spitting plasma....

It's commonly acknowledged that forcing misjumps was a debug feature whose removal was forgotten in the orginal versions of Elite.

Exactly, that are the occasions misjumps should occur until the player notices that he himself is triggering the jumps.

Indeed - and the mouse not achieving max pitch is why I've never had an accidental misjump in 2500 kills worth of play.... :?

Anyway tested with the build kindly compiled by another-commander. All looks good my end - under mouse control maximum roll and pitch are achieved via the mouse in fullscreen and in windowed mode at a variety of weird and wonderful window sizes (200 x 800 gives a nice view of The Griff Cobra front gun mount). Feels slightly different in flight under full screen, but that's because the horizontal distance the mouse needs to move to achieve full roll is slightly greater, but it takes about 10 seconds to get used to that.

Checked my game controller as well - no change - works fine in windowed and full screen.

Mouse achieving max value would lead to a deliberate (player induced) Mis-jump, "accidental" ones (in my mind) are the ones the game springs upon you when they are least desirable!

But I guess that's just semantics I guess, I think I know what you mean...

Ah, sorry, I took yout 'accidental' to mean 'accidentally triggering the player-induced misjump' as opposed to purposefully triggering it.
