Re: Science Fiction Trivia
OK, author and title please: it's a story of an unusual, and accidental, genetically engineered plague. The results are devastating and horrific ... or are they?

Long Shot.
Darwin's Children by Greg Bear.
I have read the book, and it did come to mind from your first clue, but It required quite a bit of google foo to find it from the bits I remembered. Not sure of the names of the chapters though, as I don't have the book at hand.

Nope, but close! This book was published in the 1980s. There's some biological computation going on ...

I am fairly certain I read this, but memory fails me. Dang.Disembodied wrote:Clue time: the book is divided into sections, named after phases of cell mitosis (I think).

Sorry for the delay, I've been a bit distracted recently
What was the name of the spaceship John Crichton was piloting when he flew into a wormhole, and a whole lot of trouble?

Re: Science Fiction Trivia
Oh come on - I only checked the boards 15 minutes ago and since then - a question (to which I knew the answer) posed and replied to!

Always the way, isn't it! Umpteen questions come and go, which you have no idea about, and then you miss the one you do. Happened so many times here!
