Help - how do you sell equipment?

Just downloaded Oolite v1.75.3, traded in Cobra Mk3 for a Mk1 and I want to sell the pulse laser to get a beam one but cannot seem to find the sell screen for equipment. I can see how to sell missilies but nothing else. I am sure the answer is obvious so sorry for being a dufus.

Hi, hangar18, welcome to the boards! Friendliest bb this side of Riedquat, and so on ... you don't need to sell the pulse laser first: when you go to the F3 screen and select a beam laser, it'll give you the option of where you want to mount it (front, rear, port, starboard). If you choose "front", or indeed anywhere where you already have a laser mounted, the game will automatically sell the existing weapon and replace it with the new one.

Heh! That's what I did all those years ago...sold the Mk3 and bought a Mk1. It's nowhere near as good a ship, but it frees up some cash which can be useful (I bought a docking computer and upgraded my weapons).
For what it's worth I slogged away doing 'milk runs' for a while untill I could afford a Python, and have never looked back.
If you can learn and survive in a Cobby 1, you'll do really well. It's a tough start but will put you in good stead for the future.

As a little add-on it isn't possible to sell other standard equipment items (other than pylon mounted equipment) in the normal game.

Some OXP equipment includes code to allow it to be resold (normally by a sell xxx entry on the normal equipment purchasing screen), whilst the Sell Equipment OXP provides the same functionality for the standard equipment items and some other OXP equipment.
