While looking through the wiki, I found that someone has created a user playable Milennium Falcon in an OXP (http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Kestrel_%26_Falcon_OXP). I really want to play this ship, but looking at the description it looks too fast and too powerful and will make general gameplay too easy.
I know it's possible to change various attributes in the shipdata.plist but how do I do it? The main features I want to tone down are max speed and capacity. To my mind a ship should either be fast or be able to carry a lot of goods, not both.
Edit Shipdata?

Hi Commander Trigg, and welcome to the board, friendliest...blah,blah....
Good to hear you're trying to keep things 'sensible'. We don't always get enough of this round here
You'll need to edit the shipdata.plist, as I think you realise. My first point is, when you do so, DO NOT use notepad. It adds unwanted characters and breaks things. Notepad ++ is OK as are most other text editors.
If you have a look in the shipdata.plist (this is in the Config folder within the OXP) you will see the things you're looking for. "max_speed" etc. Simply enter more appropriate figures. If you are not sure what are more appropriate figures, maybe find a ship with spec similar to what you want and use the figures from that.
Make a copy of the shipdata before you start, then if it all goes wrong you can start again. If something seems not to work, check the log, and remember to hold down 'Shift' when you start the game each time.
Best of luck!
