If you mean 'space lane' that refers to the direct line routes between witchpoint and planet, witchpoint and sun, and planet and sun. It is along these routes that the core game engine tends to spawn ships.

Spaceways may refer to the OXP Executive SpaceWays - they are a passenger liner company operating out of Galaxy 4.

'Spaceways' may also refer to the pre-plotted trade routes on ClymAngus' excellent [EliteWiki] vector maps.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Which one is this? How does it affect to game and player? Does it mean player can hitch a ride on another ship or what?

That is one of the pre-plotted trade routes... good for the inexperienced commander to follow. You can hitch a ride through another ship's wormhole, but it may not be going where you want to go... experiment a bit. Or buy a wormhole scanner... that will tell you where an npc ship is jumping to.

Do install the Tianve OXP before going there. It's harmless, but very pretty.
