I like to save the game to an different filename every so often, in case I want to restore to a point before doing the stupid wrong jump / before starting the impossible mission / whatever. I end up with lots of saved files called Jamesonnn. I am currently on Jameson56.
a) I should like the list of saved game to have a timestamp column, showing when it was saved in RealWorld time. This makes it easier to go back to the right earlier point. Especially in Linux where the quicksaved game has a different name from the saved game, and I do not recall which I did last.
b) Saved games appear to be listed in an arbitrary order, presumably the same as provided by DIR / ls. Usually, I would like them sorted by descending RealWorld time, so I can see which I saved most recently.
c) I would like the most recently saved game to be the default / highlighted. (Hey it's a computer - let's have it do the work!)
d) I would like to be able to delete saved games from the "Select Commander" list of saved games. Ideally, by just pressing the <Delete> key.
e) The "Rating" columns is of insufficient granularity to be of any real value. Adding "Kills" or "Credits" or in-game "Timestamp" would give more insight.
f) Under Windows XP you can save a commander named simply <Space Bar> resulting in a file called " .oolite-save" yet other, legal, characters ("-_#@~") are not permitted.
