Strict Mode

Post by Disembodied »

Following a few recent queries from people who have, perhaps unwittingly, got set on strict mode, is it worth adding in a brief explanation/confirmation screen here? Something along the lines of
STRICT MODE
Strict Mode disables all OXPs (Oolite Expansion Packs) and removes any equipment not found in the original 8-bit game Elite. It also prevents the player from flying any ship other than a Cobra III.

Are you sure you want to enable this option?
NO / YES
Without an explanation, it's possible that people might think (as I suspect I used to) that "Strict Mode" is some sort of iron-man option as per Escape Velocity, where if you die, you die – no restart from saved. (Yes, people could RTFM, but who does?)

Signed. In triplicate.
Take an idea from one person and twist or modify it in a different way as a return suggestion so another person can see a part of it that can apply to the oxp they are working on.
