Joystick configuration not accessible in 1.75

I had some trouble with previous versions, luckily 1.75 seems to be pretty stable on my computer. However, I'm unable to enter the Joystick Configuration menu (right at the start of the game) to change my settings. When I try to select the menu option, nothing happens. The log seems to contain some error messages, here's the latest one:

Any ideas? Can I edit the input configuration manually? Note that I have quite a few game controllers present, could that cause the problem?

Interesting. Can you please try restarting the game with just two joysticks plugged in? There is a mechanism to avoid problems with too many joysticks attached, but maybe it is not fully water-tight.

Also, have you made any changes to keyconfig.plist inside Resources/Config? If yes, can you post the contents of the file?

Finally, please post a log created after having started the game with Shift held down. There should be some additional information there about what exactly has gone wrong.

Seems that not much was changed (at least there was a reference to shift being held down), did I screw something up? I will be needing all the controllers tonight and it's a bit of effort to unplug the entire battery, but I should be able to try it out tomorrow.

The bug is fixed in r4437. Apparently the mechanism for reacting to the detection of more joysticks than allowed was not completely fail-safe (btw, on Windows the number of maximum sticks recognized by the game is 2). Thanks for bringing this to our attention AndyHill, feel free to test that everything works in tomorrow's nightly build.

Great to see the issue fixed so soon. I'll let you know if I run into trouble again. Actually just bought a cute pet for my ship and now it has apparently multiplied. How cute!
