Sad but true...Dell have not responded to my response to their quote - where I requested the contact details for the Customer Services Manager so I could raise it as a formal complaint. I suspect that because they're gaming laptops I was a "home use" user - but they were bought corporately and we buy hundreds if not thousands of Dells, so I will be raising it thru' the supply chain at my end too.
