Woooooooooosh
Staggers into room and brushes himself down...........
So what's new guys I've been away in a far off galaxy for a couple of years drinking riedquat ale!
Haven't looked at the latest OXP list yet, need to download the latest Oolite version first, I'm still running 1.72****
It's great to see Oolite still thriving and growing.

Welcome back! Can't speak for the technical stuff as I don't understand a word of it. Lots of new fiction out there though, and more to come!
Cheers,
Drew.

Re: Woooooooooosh
I only just found oolite. I have looked on and off for an elite replacement for years, only to finally stumble on this! Not only is it great in standard form, but with all the OXPs you can customise it to how you wished the game had been many years ago

And just what sort of time do you call this? We've been worried sick. You treat this place like a hotel, etc.

Thanks Commander McLane, that was my first mission objective, my second is to polish up the trusty supercobra and pop down to the shipyards to checkout what's on offer. I've seen a few piccies on the bb that quicken the pulse, a far cry from so long ago when we were piloting those old wireframe jobbies.

Thanks for the welcomes guys, all I can say is WOW! boy have you been busy, I've spent all evening trying to catch up and my brain is hurting:-
new ships, textures, misions etc etc, and the Wiki........... I'm damn near speechless.
You know when your children (and in my case grandchildren) are growing up it's incremetal and you don't notice great changes, but when you meet someonelse's who you haven't seen for a long while, the difference can be staggering!
That's how it is.
Pop! (that was the bubbly) a round of applause to the lot of you, very very well done!
OK so help this non techy old boy out with some advice, I'm going to start from the very beginning again, I want the very best visual experience, so which retextures should I add, Griff is my hero, but it seems that deepspace ships, neolite and shadysungs are very good too, what happens if I add all of them?
Which is the best hud?
Pagrooves stations or Dodo stations or both?
Your ad here of course
Accessories.
and what else?

Re: Woooooooooosh
Hi TGHC… you should get yourself a set of ClymAngus’ Vector maps from the Planet list page… they’re cool. As for eye-candy, for me it's Griff's shipset (I think that will play with the other shipsets, but you need an expert to answer that), and either System Redux or Deep Horizons - Systems... both on the OXP list
An absolute must have is the [wiki]BGS[/wiki]... great background scenery and sounds when docked.
Oh... and welcome back.

I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Re: Woooooooooosh
Minor correction, "our" vector maps we all helped make them and without the wider community they wouldn't be half as good as they ended up being. Stoic work by all concerned.El Viejo wrote:Hi TGHC… you should get yourself a set of ClymAngus’ Vector maps from the Planet list page… they’re cool.
Oh if game balance is one of your personal bug bears Mr TGHC then I probably wouldn't go near any of my ships. They're like Marmite you either love them or hate them. That's the Kirin and the Caduceus.
