OXPs simply wan't load (expand)

Post by sonicresolution »

Dear all,

Joy - just found Oolite, and I am reliving some great adventures of 25 years ago on an Acorn, ZX Spectrum & ST1040! However, the OXPs don't seem to be running. I just downloaded, unzipped and placed the .oxp files (DeepspaceHUD, DeepspaceShip, famous planet and Traffic Control into the AddOnes folder, which is within the general Oolite folder running v1.74.2 from my Application's folder - then try launching app while holding down the shift key - just looks the same when I leave the station - same HUD, Same skins etc... I'm running on a Mac OS X v: 10.5.8.
Any ideas?

Hi Sonicresolution and welcome to the forums (the friendliest this side of Riedquat(tm))

Have a look at your latest.log file (and post it here (cut and paste)) this will say whether the oxps are actually being found and loaded.

It’s supposed to be called “AddOns”.

I just presumed that was a typo - but would be a simple explanation if it is indeed the name of the folder...

Really don't know macs, but do you have a 'search' function?

Are the .oxp files correct for mac?

It seems so straight forward according to the instructions

Sorry, no slight intended...it's always worth checking the obvious.
A search around the BB found this which might mean something to you.

Hey thanks for taking the time, and no offense taken at all...trouble with text based forums etc - often hard to gauge the intention :D

No worries.
I just found this thread which should at least help you to find your logs. Useful knowledge even if it doesn't help your OXP problem.

I'll have look - tried clearing my application Cache, reinstalling etc.. no joy! I take it you're the Smivs responsible for the Accessories & Shipset? If so, do your add ons work with Mac OSX?
