Black Screen

Post by Fatleaf »

Is it just me or has anybody else came across this? Sometimes (but not all the time) in windows 7 when I minimize Oolite and then restore the window the game is still running with all the sound you would expect but the window is all black. I just have to remember not to minimize the window, so it is not a big problem.

Or as I read in a book once "It can't be all me!" orrrr... can it...?

Doesn't seem to happen here, but I might have a solution: pressing F12 switches between full screen and window mode, resetting the graphic environment as it does so. Tapping F12 twice should hopefully do the trick, do try that the next time this problem happens again.

Another thing to try is simply resizing the window: the graphic engine normally redraws the whole of the game view just after a resize...

Do let us know how it goes! :)

I'm running Linux, and for me, Oolite on start-up the screen is always black. I have to maximize it before I get any picture or sound. But after that it works fine, and I've not had any major problems. I just have to click the maximize 2 secs after startup...

I have tried both suggestions and no joy  It's just really strange.

But not to worry I have gotten quit used to not minimizing the window anyway.

My Ubuntu install behaves the same as Mauiby's.
