Is anybody else having a problem with overheating CPUs?
Recently my CPU has been overheating when the action becomes very intense. If I pause the game the CPU still remains hot. If I exit the temperature drops from 90 to 60 deg C in about 2 seconds.
I an running Debian on a twin core AMD 5800+ with 2 GB. The cooler is a massive Nero so I doubt that the problem is hardware related.
Any pointers will be welcome.

Not really much help, but the obvious thing to suggest is shutting down other applications.
I run Ubuntu on a quad-core with Intel graphics accelerator, and it copes fine, but I have noticed the fan kicking in when the computer's doing other things, particularly running Boinc calculations...often three at once, so I tend to suspend these when playing. I'll leave browsers, email etc open.
