[Solved] repository broken?

Post by Gnudoll »

i have been trying to update my installation of Oolite, but teh package repository is not responding. These lines

deb http://debs.oolite.org/ lenny test
deb-src http://debs.oolite.org/ lenny test

That I got directly from the Oolite.org web page do not work (server does not respond). I also tried to download the autopackage and that link seems to be broken as well. Is someone already looking into this? Is there an ETA for it to be back up? Thanks for all you have done so far for this "game". I just hope we can get the updates available again. . .

repository broken?

The oolite.org autopackage package links are functional for both 32&64bit.
I don't know if in the meantime someone has fixed them.

For the deb repository, it could be that it is off-line due to a
GNUstep base bug found for versions > 1.19.1 and < trunk (1.21.1).
Read this post for details.
I'll check them and come back on that... unless Micha gets there first.

The repository is working. I have successfully upgraded from 1.73.4 --> 1.74.1.
It is just not yet updated to 1.74.2.

Could it be a proxy or firewall affecting these connections in your network?

Note: I recommend to remove any oolite installed from the repository,
if you are to install the autopackage package.

1.74.2 has been out for a week already. Any idea when it will be in the repository?

The Repositories:

deb http://debs.oolite.org/ lucid test
deb-src http://debs.oolite.org/ lucid test

are currently not showing any entries so there is nothing to install.

I am aware of the GNUstep issue on Lucid but I already have installed the patch from
http://ppa.launchpad.net/3-launchpad-mi ... ppa/ubuntu

Is the repository broken, removed or what?

Apologies for lack of deb packages for 1.74.2 - I've had a very bad case of RealLife and around the same time I lost access to the automated deb build server.

I am now starting to resurrect my OOLife and have also managed to get a deb build server together again. 1.74.2 debs are now available for some distros.

As for Ubuntu Lucid and Maverick, they both ship with broken GNUstep and my patched version of GNUstep 1.19.3 only patches some issues (we found more issues later on). Hence I've not been making debs for these distros at the moment. If everybody complains to Ubuntu maybe it'll get them moving onto a fixed version of GNUstep.

EDIT: I have now backported GNUstep1.20.1 for lucid and made Oolite packages.
