Nightly builds for Mac?

Post by Ramirez »

I understand it's possible to build from source on a Mac using Xcode and various other bits and pieces, but am I right in thinking there's no simple trunk build available to download for the Mac as there is for PC and Linux?

For Mac-based OXP authors like myself it means there's not much I can do to keep up with development, and until 1.74 is released I'm not really in a position to either test compatability of existing OXPs or start significant work on new stuff. I'm not looking forward to all the deprecation warnings that are bound to crop up!

It would be great if we could have an accessible Mac version of the development build. Even a snapshot of the current state, as opposed to more regular updates, would be useful. I'm afraid I don't know the technicalities of all this, but is it doable?
Download Resistance Commander plus many other exciting OXPs HERE

Building it yourself is actually quite easy on the mac when you follow the instructions on the wiki.
On your mac installation DVD there is somewhere a package called: development tools. When installing that, you have everything to compile Oolite.
The first installation of the stuff needed for Oolite can have some hurdles, but after that it are just a few mouse clicks to update the code and compile it.

If you (for some reason) can't or don't want to build it yourself, you can IM me, send me a wave or whatnot and I'll upload a recent build for you.
