Witchspacing escape pod

My escape pod has just witchspaced

..or maybe not - I think it was my ship: we were right on top of one another.
(I'll try the same thing again)

hmmm … … Can't get a repeat performance, but one of us hyperspaced through a shimmering wormhole immediately after escape-podding "dead slow" at a great distance from the station/planet/sun.

The pod finished up where I expected, but I've never seen this behaviour before. I very much doubt that, however far from Terra Firma, a pod could hyper- back to the station; I"m not sure whether a MosquitoFire would auto-hyperspace anywhere once abandonded.
