External ship camera views??

i know i can press (v) to cycle views but is there a 360` move the view around mode so i can drool over my griff shaded ship in game??? :?

Alas no ... and any modifications to the external view system is unlikely to happen in the near future. It's one of those little flaws included in Oolite to remind us that it is, in the end, the work of mortals. ;)

Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied
