No stations in this one but damn, that's one gorgeous nebula effect!

Thanks a lot. (@pagroove: I love your Worldranger - the metallic look is cool!!!)

The station still needs some tweaks. Maybe I should ask Griff or pagroove **blink, blink** for some shader-effects specially for the reactor-part, because this is all new for me and I really don't understand the OpenGL-stuff. But the last weeks I've learned a lot about Oolite's lighting situation, the memory usage and the processing time. Still just a beginner, but give me some time, hehe.

@Cmdr.Maegil: Hey, you didn't seen it ingame? And if it's usable for Murgh's tugs.oxp - for sure he can use it.
BTW: Is Murgh still here?

And for other purposes you will have to face some difficulties:
It is very slow, with a absolutely bad pitch and roll and I have moved the middle-point of the ship to get a better rotation with an attached buoy. So I think it is no good idea to use it as player-ship. But other companies can BUY a licence to use it :-) It will be very expensive - we have to pay our advertising agency, hehe...

@Svengali

Beginner??? Your station looks fantastic man. And the Griff is responsible for all the shader stuff on the station so he deserves all the credit in that department. But I do good textures but I had to ask Griff for much help. Did you see his experiments with the Griff Crait en the Destroyed Coriolis?

@Disembodied

I noticed indeed that the nebula's in 171.1 are cooler than in older versions!!
However the cool effects a few pages earlier (more stars) that I'm waiting for.
:wink:

You should see my first models :-)

And yes, I saw Griffs experiments. I don't know what I should say - have no words for such beautiful things. He's doing things I couldn't imagine. Lovely and I can't wait till he releases his next eye-candy.

And yes - I'm a beginner. But not a total beginner. For my job I have to use CAD-Progs, but I haven't modelled anything for a game and specially no low-poly things. There are a lot of differences to 'normal' modelling. But we all together are getting better and better, hehe...

The only program that is a bit Cad- Cam like is G-max. But I'm not very good at it. My brother is good at it. So I can then ask him for help. I did try Wings 3d but I have a problem with the tutorial. It seems that Wings 3d has changed since the tutorial was written.

I don't know how you set a scale.

But Svengali. Could you also make Coriolis factory? Griff has no time for this A.T.M. ? In the WIKI it says that the Coriolis Factorcy is at Vetice. 8)

Select the object (left click) -> right click-> choose scale -> choose the way of scaling -> press tab to enter a value or scale with the mouse.

Huuh, not the best moment, but what are you thinking about? An abstract coriolis with a lot of peaks and spikes? I'll try something and send you the link, so you can texture it.

@Svengali

We had a plan for making a factory that produces the Corolius Stations. But if you don't have time then wait. No hurry. It's a game!

Yes, let's wait a little bit. My oxps are waiting...

And the factory would be a huuuge thing - a really big project. But I'll do some brainstorming - while frickling around with my other things - and send it to you.

BTW: You wrote that you have G-Max. Use it - even if it means to spend some time for understanding the structure and handling. Too bad that it isn't available anymore. It is a awesome tool and was (~2 years ago) available for free from Kinetics - the little brother of their flagship. If you have some questions - ask your brother or send me a pm.

About gmax: the last available version can still be downloaded from http://www.turbosquid.com/gmax - it's a windows only application, though...

Here are some more. The next two are featuring DreamTeam models:
Adder exiting atmosphere, heading to Coriolis:

Coriolis station launching defense Viper:

And last but not least, Qutiri, one of the most beautiful planets in the Ooniverse:

Wow! The DT models look nice in flight. One thing though - the Viper being launched is not a defence Viper - it's the civilian version... ;-)

Is this why it comes out without flashers? I had deliberately shot the station to make the defenders come out with full flasher effects. Dang! :?
