Tinker??? :o

It took me 1 hour of adjusting parameters in your cobra decal oxp to get a simple image in the right place on the back left hand corner. I then found it had to be flipped horizontally.

Will post images when I get back home.

Got ideas for an oxp because of this. Just not sure it is possible. Mod kits for your ship.

Is what I get when forumizing drunk.

Irony will come in the screenshots I promised.

After much messing about with GIMP and Griff's (not El Viejo's) cobra decal oxp, I get this...

Yay!

Don't drink and fly (and forumize)

The image that cost me an hour of my life before I got the exact positioning (and scale and that it should be flipped horizontally for the aft!).

Is it possible that we could have an Oolite-lite viewer? For quick viewing of models? With bells and whistles and fluffy kittens on?

Very cool, Tricky - now you just gotta give the ship a custom paintjob!

An Oolite viewer, if possible, would be very useful for texturing models.

If you arrange the files correctly, you can actually use Wings3D to view the textures on the model. Blender may be able to do that too - never tried but it seems quite a clever program.

Which brings me back to my OXP idea...

Arrive at a chop-shop... sorry Halfoods or Quik Foot... pay about 66 to 75% of the actual value of a ship just to get the body upgrade.

Or, pay substantially less for a re-spray.

An idea I got after reading your shortish story, "Coyote."

I have been asked to post some piccies of Griff's No Shaders ShipSet captured during normal game play. I have been reluctant to do so because of my computer's poor video capabilities. To get decent frame rates (60-64 fps) I must use 16 bit color resolution. This, naturally, cuts down on texture detail. Furthermore, my personal version of said OXP has been modified by rescaling and using a monochromatic color scheme.

Cobra Mk I hermit, just scooped a splinter:

And this is his home, a Griff Rock Hermit:

A Sidewinder Scout Ship... picked a fight with the wrong guy:

I am throwing this in too. Griff's Seedy Space Bar dock is now standard for all my stations. I like well lit docking ports.

Odd. Just looked at it, and it seems to be working fine. No errors.

Are the file extensions lowercase jpg and png? Maybe it's case sensitive...

Just noted that the links to the images in the image list are "buttonised". Might have to add some classes to the css.

Nice screenshots though. Especially like that gimi's lovely shot is the first.

Blender is indeed able to do that... and you can also configure the custom shaders to veiw in full shaders (so it would effectively look almost exactly the same as in oolite.)

I always use the mission screen for that. When using the console, there is even a macro for that. The syntax is:

Code: Select all

:test role
Just make sure your ship has an unique role in its list.

When you mend a lite viewer to be used by others to admire your work, you can look in my sign. In the 1.74+ versions, you will find two oxps with the name 'showroom' in it. Use one of them with modified roles for your work if needed.

I don't know why it can't take .jpg and .png (tried both lower and upper case extensions, no change), but in the end I did manage to upload a first batch of images converted to .gif. Hope you will enjoy them.

Weird. The one of Gimli's I uploaded is a .png, and that went through fine.

Gimli? Been down in middle-earth lately, have we?

Cool pics, Admiral!
