Does this mean we'll find one of the Babylon Stations somewhere? (Babylon 4 perhaps?)

Frame, I can see why this is taking its time to be released. But when it does it will be brilliant. It looks amazing.

After some more work on the shaders

Image

The moon is cubemapped now (the texture is taken from Cmd.Cheyds DH-Systems for this test and adjusted with the scenes color). Shadows are still a greyscale map (applied to the water and landscape). Additionally I'm experimenting with clouds, but it's a difficult task without blending.

Wow that's amazing Svengali! So have you done this by placing the 'camera' somewhere in the system then building this world around it using models & sub entities? If so are we on our way to being able to have a docking tunnel fly though sequence? :drool emoticon:

:-) The Camera is still [0,0,0], only the 'scene' and the light position moved (easily controllable by scripts).

The docking tunnel thing... hmm... the breakpattern is hardcoded, so only after docking a screen could show such a scene.

Having been prompted to visit Zaquesso, here is a nice view of Crater Lakes Wilderness Reserve, courtesy of Povray Planets:

Ahh... So you were the one who downloaded that texture. You had me wondering, as the part of the site you used to do that isn't linked any of the main pages, and has not been released for "public" use. You had me wondering if someone had somehow managed to stumble across it or something. Glad you found it useful. And just to make sure it's crystal clear - I don't mind you having utilized it. I need to finish it up and 'release' that area some day...

Yep - it was me .-) The whole thing is still in alpha state, but the goal is to create some shaders for cutscenes. Your textures are really awesome and it would be so cool to see the cubemapped planets/moons ingame, Cmd. Cheyd!
