Tardis OXP

For all those Dr Who fans I've put together a Tardis OXP. It's only the model of the ship right now and the texture needs a bit of work. I haven't put it on the wiki yet as I wanted to see what people think first.

Once installed if you want to have a look at the Tardis without waiting for it to appear rename the script file:

..\Oolite\AddOns\tardis.oxp\Config\script.plist-
to
..\script.plist

The Tardis will then appear outside the space station

Not sure if its been done before but never mind if it has....

Nice one. I was gonna do that in my Deepspace game! You beat me to it.

I even have a planet named Galifrey. The Tardis was going to be something you could fuel scoop but you scooped it, you'd hear the tardis sound and it would disappear from your cargo hold

I'm still gonna put it in there though

Its a nice laugh. You'll probably get something for actually catching though.

Is you version the actual ship that you can fly? or just a nice visual joke? either way great.

Its just an NPC at the moment. It's somewhat bigger than what it should be otherwise it would be too small to see. Let me know if you want the wings model and I put it up on my website. Like I say the texture is a big rubbish but working on it. Err well when I get the time that is...

To be honest there's not special about it other than it's really fast and manoeuvrable the whole thing also rotates about the Y axis. If you look at the shipdata.plist you will see what I mean.

rockin' with the tardis! now if you could just get it to play the dr. who theme song when it appears! =D i'd be interested in the model, see what i could come up with on the texture too, if you don't mind. =D

heh, sweet! the tardis popped up on it's own. because of the swooping, i couldn't get too close a look at it, so i guess i'll have to get a hold of the model. but once i got close enough it was recognizably a phone booth. =D and besides, it's been different sizes in the past, maybe the doc has been fiddling with the blending functions again.

For anyone who is interested I've put the Tardis model up on my website which can be downloaded from:

I've included the wings model and a Wavefront OBJ model as well

Under the directory http://www.leebennett.force9.co.uk/oolite there are also some other OXPs. The tribant is interesting in that you can shot it to pieces and it has a good death action.
