Well, I thought I might as well make a topic for my Borg OXP. It's a just-for-fun project, so I may not release this for a while. But so far, it sure is fun.
This OXP removes the Thargoids from the game, on the assumption that they were assimilated. I'm working on a script that will make the Borg attack the station, sometimes. Maybe I'll modify Furball...
They should be able to make you dock with them (if you don't evade them) and swap your ship for a rusty clapped-out adder with no special equipment....
To make it a proper Borg cube, you have to make it out of frangible smaller cubes, each equal to all others... let's say, 10^3=1000 units, from which a brand new cube would be able to fire up to (100/face)x3=300 guns at a single target.
There's a reason why a single Borg cube royally kicked arse on Wolf 359.

You know those who, having been mugged and stabbed, fired, dog run over, house burned down, wife eloped with best friend, daughters becoming prostitutes and their countries invaded - still say that "all is well"?
I'm obviously not one of them.

I'm not that good at subents yet.
But I am planing of giving the cubes more lasers.
I've been waiting for this. Excellent. But can we keep the Thargoids in the game, please (or is there some switch, within the OXP, for that)?
I used the shipdata-overrides.plist to change the Thargoid's role to "unused". Theoretically, commenting out that section or replacing "unused" with "thargoid" should do it. Or you could just delete the overrides file.
If you guys want, I might release what I have so far... it basically adds the Borg to replace the 'Goids. And the only known weapon in the core game that can kill them is the Q-Bomb (and the JS console).
In doing so you've possibly broken at least one trunk mission (Thargoid Plans) plus a few OXP ones if this OXP is installed. That may be something to investigate and consider.
