[RELEASE] graffiti asteroids, post your tag here

Post by Staer9 »

If you have looked on the screenshot thread you may have noticed graffitied asteroids.

If you want to help with this project then just tag these textures:
(you have to open them separetly to save them because the BB doesn't allow 1024 x 1024 images)

first texture
second texture

or alternately create new asteroid models and texture.

All contributions will be used and credit will be given approprietly

there are two asteroids per texture feel free to do one or both

<edit>

Version 1 incorporating textures by:
Staer9, DaddyHoggy, RyanHoots, Smivs, Gimi, ADCK and some base textures by Eric Walch,

Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far

download here: http://www.box.net/shared/x74yjshz4jje06krkyar

coming soon... Tagged Hermits

Hope I've been relatively subtle - almost shadow like... (and I prefer the 2nd to the 1st...)

Nicely done DH, they will be included :D

however they don't show as clearly as the others, it might be better to make them more bold,

this is what one of the other textures looks like as an example:

I don't mind them being subtle - DaddyHoggy is a very old bird - these symbols have been around for a very long time - which is why they are so worn and faded...

Let these young ones have their gory neon...

How about this one. It has a strange symbol on it, and the best scientists can't figure out what an "Oolite" is, or why anybody would want to put the symbol on an asteroid. It boggles the mind...

Reminds me of the creature living in the asteroid on Empire Strikes Back! Word of advice: don't land in any strange caves on asteroids for repairs. :) Cobramk3's are like sugar to them.
Take an idea from one person and twist or modify it in a different way as a return suggestion so another person can see a part of it that can apply to the oxp they are working on.

Wouldn't work like that, you've gone outside the borders of the actual image, see Staer9's example further up.

+flickr resizes images too.
