Hi, as a newbe to Oolite I have encountered just one problem! So far the program is super stable. I have installed quite a few OXP's without any problems so far.
I have a new i7 PC with DDR3 and Nvidia 285 GTX graphics card with latest W7 drivers.
I am on Oolite v1.73.4
Here is the problem. With Werewolf OXP loaded.
Crash To Desktop when at the weapons load screen (F3). When Werewolf OXP is removed no further problems!
Sorry if I have put this post in the wrong place Thought you guys would know if this is a previously known issue.
Falconeer, have you tried this with just the Werewolf OXP installed and nothing else? Note that this OXP is utilizing functionality that does not exist currently in 1.73.4, but only in trunk. Also, how did you unpackage it? In the version I have downloaded, the zip file contains Images, Config etc. folders, without a "mother" Werewolf.oxp folder or similar. It might be that you have these folders directly under AddOns, which could lead to unpredictable situations.
I tried installing Werewolf.oxp under 1.73.4 as the only OXP present and did not receive a CTD at the F3 screen. But I don't expect this OXP to work under 1.73.4 anyway.
I have removed a couple of other oxp's which the log file seemed to suggest were a problem :
adck_behemoths, adck_bulk_haulers, Kirin_sport.
I only see one problem the latest log file shows:-
( [shader.uniform.unpermittedMethod]: Did not bind uniform "alertlevel" to property) -and I have no idea what it refers to. Oolite runs spot on so far. Even with this in the log file.
The latest log file is below:-
[log.header]: Opening log for Oolite version 1.73.4 (x86-32 test release) under Windows at 2010-06-07 09:48:45 +0100.
4 processors detected.
Oolite Options: [Procedural Planets] [Docking Clearance] [Wormhole Scanner] [Target Incoming Missiles]
Note that the contents of the log file can be adjusted by editing logcontrol.plist.

Yes, that folder in the zip should contain a ".oxp" ending to be correct working. I don't see any reason for a crash under 1.73. The code for hud-switching should do no harm when used with 1.73. It just has no effect. It might be the timer that gives trouble but that is fixed in 1.74. Adding a requires.plist by the author, to prevent loading in pre 1.74 versions would be useful in my opinion.
Incidentally, I have just noticed (admittedly I am so new I am still "Average") that I now can buy a "Strut 10-10-30 cargo:0 Speed: 0.050LS Plus Witchdrive Fuel Injectors, Docking Computers, Scanner Targetting Enhancement, Fuel Scoops Price: 3049") Why would anyone want to fly a "Strut"? Or is this part of a mission plan in an oxp I hav'nt come across yet?
Has anyone else seen these "ships" (Struts)? I am at Ensoreus Ships for sale!
I thought I must have been drinking that Hoopy Ale at one of their casino's

I think this is a subentity that the Illicit Unlock OXP has included as a player ship. In error of course.
Open up the shipyard.plist in the Illicit Unlock OXP and edit out the strut from it.
NB: do not use Windows Notepad to do this. Use Notepad++ or similar!

Maybe you could start a Kickstarter Campaign to found your £4500 pledge.
Thanks to Gimi, I got an eBook in my inbox tonight (31st May 2014 - Release of Elite Reclamation)!
The struts are parts of the rock hermit. It are distance holders to keep the living quarters on their place. It is ever very difficult to see them in game. And they are certainly never mend as ship.
The struts are also added in RS collection as player ship. No idea why.
i do actually mention in the docu's that some unzippers split the folders up.
i did fail to mention tho (kinda took it for granted people would know, after my last OXP :-/ ) that it's a 1.74/trunk OXP : the HUD switch won't work on 1.73, but Eric says that's not the cause of the crash so i'm not sure why it's failing. was it crashing when you hit the F3, are were you trying to buy/install something?

Added a note to the download link on the wiki.

Hi Killer Wolf, the Werewolf OXP installed OK and had the .oxp extension, in the Add ons folder. All appears fine, the ships display as AI and when one was available to buy, after purchase and upon hitting F3 to buy equipment, it CTD. The new HUD was visible on the screen before hitting F3 and the CTD.
uuh.....it doesn't
i'm trying to think what the OXP wouldn't like about the F3 and i can't come up w/ anything - as far as i can think the F3 is independant of the OXP. i'll load it into my 1.73 at home and see if anything happens.
cheers
I don't know if this might cause the error, but line 62 in the shipyard.plist has a comma at the end of it but as the last item in the list i don't think it needs one.
maybe try removing the comma using any text editor except the notepad (the one built into windows), resave the file and restart oolite with the shift key held down until the spinning cobra title screen appears (holding down shift gets oolite to re-load in all the oxp files afresh (is afresh a word?)
