Re: Random Hits docking
.. if I'm understanding Cody correctly, insta-dock lets you dodge the penalty you'd otherwise incur for being an Offender.. So definitely a bug, IMO. As far as I remember, you still are fined. However, it are the patrolling police ships that activate the fine while scanning nearby ships. And the sh...

Re: Random Hits docking
I can only speak for myself, but I have not activated fast docking on any stations in my own OXPs. I personally don't like it. I fully agree. When auto_dock became available for mission stations, I decided to not enable it for the spacebars. But maybe Little Bear has a complete different opinion on...

Re: No more metal fragments?
There is also a check that FPS must be higher than 8 to prevent slowing down an already slow computer.Neelix wrote:IIf the code to calculate the amount of debris hasn't changed, could something else have changed? e.g. Could something be affecting the mass of the ships?

Re: Best version for OLD PPC Macs?
One warning with those old versions in combination with oxp's. A lot of oxp's don't specify a minimum oolite version, resulting in Oolite trying to load the newer oxp's. The old Oolite versions however don't like complex ships and crash on loading them. There is no check for ships with to many trian...

Re: Best version for OLD PPC Macs?
If I recall correctly, Commander McLane keeps an extensive archive of older Mac versions.. The oldest I have lying around is Oolite 1.01.dmg (3.7 MB). I remember that it worked with OS Tiger. It is a really basic version of Oolite :) I remember that Oolite 1.65 contains a lot of speed improvements,...

Re: No more metal fragments?
I actually think there should be more alloys. From the code, I don't see that there is less metal than previously. The number of metal fragments is calculated as: n_alloys = sqrt(sqrt(mass / 25000)) That number has never changed. If the fragments are produced is determined by the "fragment_cha...

where there's an incoming message, "decripting" (bad spelling, by the way),........ I suspect the space bar is about to invite me to join in a sorty to fight off some bad guys, but I'm not getting the message. That misspelled word is generated in the routine that "invites' you to an ...

Re: Core and OXP ships with docking problems
Worker transports are quite a bit larger than the dock, Those ships have a very low thrust. I always used them for testing the docking procedure. With the motto: if those work well, the other ships also will work. On the other side of the spectrum are the high-pitch of fast ships, that were giving ...

Re: Problem with "shipWillLaunchFromStation" event.
Put a brick on your shift key during development.
When you do a lot of oxp testing, then visit the [wiki]Hidden_Settings_in_Oolite[/wiki] page and set "always-flush-cache" to true. It saves a lot of frustration.

Re: mission.markSystem question
(albeit with the red 'X'). Is there not other code in your script that also places a red cross at the same time? Or did you test it by pasting the code directly into the console. Re: mission.markSystem question
I can't reproduce. mission.markSystem({ system: 55, name: "my_oxp", markerColor: "orangeColor", markerScale: 1.1, markerShape: "MARKER_DIAMOND" }, { system: 100, name: "my_oxp", markerColor: "orangeColor", markerScale: 1.1, markerShape: "MARKER_...

Re: mission.markSystem question
I tried this format.... try every system as a separate object: mission.markSystem({ system: (55), name: "my_oxp", markerColor: "cyanColor", markerScale: 1.5, markerShape: "MARKER_DIAMOND" }, { system: (100), name: "my_oxp", markerColor: "cyanColor",...
