Re: Scripters cove
I guess you mean ship script under script, but you must put this into a worldscript and the "whom" is what the player is scooped. Sorry I was falling asleep when I wrote this last night! Essentially I wrote a test script to see if the shipScoopedOther would enable me to run a scripted eve...

Re: "The Adventures of Captain Morgan" Or "Damn That Mossfoo
Even though the US also has different accents across different parts of the country, I don't think we really think about the same thing happening in other countries. I of course know Steve Irwin and Crocodile Dundee. And I think to most Americans, we think that that, is just what all Aussies must s...

Re: "The Adventures of Captain Morgan" Or "Damn That Mossfoo
Which brings up another interesting point. We all have accents, even us yanks. };] But I wonder how my characters sound, to you guys... If you're an Aussie, do Morgan and Spitfire speak with Aussie accents in your head? Or what if you're British, or...? And how does one write an Australian accent i...

Re: Solar Horizon
That's the elegant way - the fast-and-dirty* way is when you hit masslock, hit the injectors and dive straight for the heart of the sun. The moment the tank begins to gulp, pull a one-eighty, hit hyperspace, and you're away, fully-tanked. Cabin temperature shouldn't be a problem - but nothing is gu...

Re: [Solved] WARNING: Timer <OOJSTimer
Where it says function: anonymous I'm assuming it's referring to the function that created it... How about making it report the function it calls ? It has to know the name of the function it's calling even if the function itself is no longer valid... It's the function it calls. But not all function...

Re: [Solved] WARNING: Timer <OOJSTimer
Not Solved, Warning still appears in my Logs. If it is MFD related the issue is most certainly not resolved at all. Still getting many examples like ; [script.javaScript.unrootedTimer]: ----- WARNING: Timer <OOJSTimer 0x2cc73d50>{nextTime: 3408.86, interval: 0.25, running, function: anonymous} is b...

Re: Hidden items in the ship outfitting screen
In terms of core equipment, this seems a bit pointless as the standard Cobra III can have all equipment fitted, and a player choosing another ship would surely check out the ship before buying it and would therefore know if equipment can't be fitted (eg mil shields if you fly a Python). If you are ...

Re: Proposal for 1.82: equipment balancing and choices
Well, as this chart from the Wiki shows, G4 is a particularly tough nut to crack.. there's only four government types in the entire chart, and the "medium" and "dangerous" systems heavily outnumber the "safe" ones. http://i407.photobucket.com/albums/pp159/ElYoda69/Ooli...

Thanks for posting those three chapters so quickly. I hate cliffhangers where a main character's life hangs in the balance...

So is there any mechanism for an NPC to change it's view of your assumed role as it interacts with or observes the player?cim wrote:There's not a universal assumed role - each ship picks its own at random from the list when it's spawned (or copies its group leader's, if possible).

Re: Are OXZ's an improvement ...
While in principle that may sound like a good idea, in this application and given the one of the goals seems to be to make the OXP creation process as simple as possible that sounds far too fiddly... I would suggest the following: When extracting an OXP via the manager, it records checksums of the e...

I'm curious what it takes to change the assumed role? I'm guessing pirates won't suddenly lose interest in you if you fire on an asteroid....

Re: Hidden items in the ship outfitting screen
The item that is dependable on some other equipment could be presented indented and under that equipment and it could not be bought, but you could see the description and price. Like this: Fuel Scoop Ore Processor I generally like the idea. I'm not sure about the indenting thing though... how would...
