Re: Help
I don't think I've ever bothered rolling. For me, it's all about timing, which I control with the speed of my ship. I line up outside the station, orientate myself, and then wait. Then head straight into the dock, usually at full speed.
Just an alternative strategy if the other doesn't work for you!

Re: Introduce Yourself.
The main reason I haven't posted before is I suffer from severe depression and am not too good with strangers. But everyone here seems so friendly and I don't think I've seen a flame yet so I finally decided to pitch in and say a big thanks for helping keep me sane. I actually discovered Oolite and...

I have no idea how accurate this is, but it was interesting nonetheless: http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/201 ... ible-drive

Re: Space music: Internet Radio stations
Seconding the thanks! I used to quite enjoy the monthly IRC ambient radio show which introduced me to the style. 'Tis not something that I would buy, or be able to particularly distinguish between pieces, but I find it rather nice as general background music. These will do nicely!

Re: Multi chart cargo / passenger / parcel contracts
... but how much in-game time does a Galactic Jump take? By the ship's clock, a gal-jump is instantaneous. There's been some discussion about it before - I'd like to see it take a fair bit of in-game time. Indeed. I seem to recall that given enough of Smivs' Gaa-drive pods, (ie 7 + 1 standard Galac...

Re: Firefox 29 is out...
Finally got around to upgrading to FF29 today. Mainly because the RSS addon (for which amongst other things I use to read the bulletin board, rather than actively visit) decided to start playing up. Normally I run the beta version of Firefox, but for some reason I never got around to enabled that PP...

Re: Limit Theory
I should really stop following the links that you guys post about this. I keep on drooling on my keyboard - he's realising dreams that I never knew that I had! In my own time I'm playing around with procedural generation of landscapes, in C and OpenGL. I suspect that if I ever saw the innards of his...
