I'll bite. While personally I have not seen a particularly distracting or annoying banner in signature - I can appreciate those that do find them a little excessive, especially on devices which are not desktop computers. Linking to content would be my preference - avatars should really be sufficient.

Recommend you search for similar posts like 'What OXP to install' . but universally 'Random Ship Names' is recommended. Also be cautioned - add ambiance and visuals before adding things that adjust game mechanics.

In this OXP submersible has (consciously or not) chosen a different approach: there is only one variant in shipdata.plist, defining the keys for both NPC and player ship. Un-conscious - almost in a coma actually. I've since adjust it into a -template , -player and -npc and placed in -player definit...
