Can I just point out here, that you can get a visual lock on the Space Station way before the compass has registered! Well that doesn't make sense, if you can see it with your eyes, then surely an "Advanced Space Compass" should be able to detect it. It does seem a little odd. I'm sure it...

I like the idea of both concepts... one where you can can go head to head with other players in a dogfight (others are keen to try out their racing skills, too), and another more involved MMO(R!)PG. I quite like the idea of Oolite interfacing with a game that already has planetside/strategy elements...

I agree flyingcircus. I never use em myself, either. But, as long as it was a rare occurence, I wouldn't mind the distraction of an energy bomb being utilized against me, and the ensuing scramble.

Is the issue of non-vaporized debris still awaiting agreement too? ie Should you benefit by the ability to scavenge after blasting everything in sight? Would their, realistically, be any debris? -they require something like a 5sec power-up prep time, and when activated emit a detectable signal.. -EB...

I used to do a good trade in TNK scooping up police slaves who came snooping cos of my fugitive status. The police in Oolite are a little more dedicated to fighting to the finish

Not quite in the "amusuing ways to die " category, but still... I was a-visiting a one of my liquor-drinking hermits, this evening (calling in on the old rock lobster at his love shack, to see how much platinum, gold and gems he culd sell me: I had a hold full of that lovely booze he love...

I see now with the galaxy route map why its important to the gameplay..... Will the be an oppurtunity to add more information about a planet in the future maybe a landscape shot (like EV Nova) or picture of inhabitants (Amiga/St Elite). I think this would add too the atmosphere of the game, rather ...

Mine isn't Pro and it seems ok (in Mozilla, haven't checked it any other).

Well, I'm trying out Quicktime right now and it seems to be running mp3s off the net ok. There must have been a fault on the site I hit the other night.

All I can tell you is that, only a couple of days ago, I went to a site with audio content and all the links seemed to have something wrong with them. A brief snatch of each soundfile was all I could hear. There's does seem to be issues with Quicktime itself at the moment... http://forums.emuscene.c...
