One of the funniest moments ever lol!

I'm also disappointed there were no Thargoids. Obviously they haven't been introduced yet but hopefully soon...

Re: David Braben's Elite: Dangerous

Oolite can have that many systems as well. The only problem is that you'd never make it back to Galaxy 1 unless you have a reverse galactic hyperdrive! The problem with this is, as proven, the more of the same gets boring. Hence why I am not surprised that when CMDR Zulu Romeo made it to Sagi...

Re: What else did we play when Elite was king?

I wasn't born until late 1987 so I have only heard of about a handful of these games!  The first game I remember playing was this: http://www.commanderkeenfans.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Commander_Keen_1.jpg Then probably either Elite or Frontier, I can't remember which one I played ...

Re: Star Wars - The Force Awakens

Well I can understand the point of the sword. No more chopping hands off! But it does look a little bit silly. To be honest, I think this meme sums it up for a lot (but not all) people: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-elVxzwH-_4I/U2T38UXm-aI/AAAAAAAABlU/zmA7zOzit68/s1600/Star-Wars7-Harrison-Ford-acting.jp...

So the centre of the galaxy has already been reached. So much for the journey taking weeks or months!

Still, it might be a while before all 400 billion systems have been visited...

Re: David Braben's Elite: Dangerous

Personally I think although they could have been a bit quicker to come forward about the no offline mode, as well as handling the situation better rather than hiding it in a sentence within a newsletter, they have produced a very nice looking game and with a lot of scope for improvements. The basic ...

Re: David Braben's Elite: Dangerous

Well, solo play is said to only require about 10kbps, so you may well be good to go already. I don't know if that's completely true. And besides you still have to download the game which on slow connections would take ages. People already complain about the download times just for the Beta patches!...

Re: David Braben's Elite: Dangerous

Some Q&A from Mr Braben in the early newsletter:

http://us2.campaign-archive2.com/?u=dcb ... 1d209941c4

Obviously all about offline-gate but it addresses some issues. Most was a rewording of yesterday's answers but it's a bit more in depth.
