[RELEASE]FrizbeeV1.0
The Frizbee is a disk shaped ship, often referred to as a "flying saucer". It has Beam Lasers, stock, pointing out from all four possible laser positions, and a missile tube. It also sports the oh so fashionable fuel scoop. It's just a big, circular trade ship, that carries a pretty good l...

Re: [RELEASE]adeShadowV1.0.oxp
I have had to make a correction in the shipyard.plist for this ship. I forgot to give it a chance designation for availability. I apologize to those that have already downloaded this ship. If you don't wish to hassle with deleting the version you have, and downloading the corrected version, simply o...

Re: [RELEASE]adeShadowV1.0.oxp
Yeah, I'm familiar with that. I even used it to a much greater extant when making the Comet. In was the only way to really round off that front globe section, not to mention the smaller barrel sections. Maybe I'll try using subdivisions more in my next project. Thanks Griff.

Re: [RELEASE]adeShadowV1.0.oxp
nice work mandoman, that looks like a really complex ship design to model and it looks like you've managed it fantastically well! Thanks, Griff. I'm afraid it might be an eye sore to the "Quads to Tris" guys. I tried doing that, and when I unwrapped the thing for texturing, it was such a ...

Re: [RELEASE]adeShadowV1.0.oxp
Thanks, dertien. I bet you could do it too. You just have to dive in and experiment. It's not easy, but anything good never is.dertien wrote:Hey Mandoman,
I am sure it must not have been easy to get the rounded shape into a decent form, that's why I only do flatties. , Great stuff, keep it up.

[RELEASE]adeShadowV1.0.oxp
The Jade Shadow is a ship out of the ongoing Star Wars post movie book series. I take no credit for the design of this ship, or it's concept. This oxp is simply my attempt to create a version of the ship for the game Oolite. The ship is named after it's original owner, Mara jade. One time assasine f...

Re: MandoTech Industries, Inc.
No, I don't think it's quite as big as an Anaconda. Anaconda measures 170m long, while the JadeShadow is about 150ms. The JadeShadow does out do it in width, with 86ms, compared to the Anaconda's 75m width. Once again, though, the Anaconda is taller than the JadeShadow, at 60ms, to 33ms. I would put...

Re: MandoTech Industries, Inc.
I thank you most kindly for your generous words. You're right, I have lots of ideas........too many ideas. I've found myself twisting a ship into a knot (hey, I didn't think of that one), because I took a couple of steps I shouldn't have. You are very right about the time put into the JadeShadow. I ...

Re: MandoTech Industries, Inc.
The JadeShadow is basically finished. I just have to double check it, polish any little things I find wrong, and it should be ready. Here are a couple of pics.

Re: Blender 3d Modeling Tutorials
Did you make that avatar you use? That is cool. I've thought about reading some tutorials on how to make animations with Blender. Maybe I'll give it a shot sometime.

Re: Blender 3d Modeling Tutorials
Hmm, I like the way it's set up in 2.63. Guess I'm kind of a retro-grouch. I'll have to think about the newer versions some more. Thanks for the info, Staer9.

Re: Blender 3d Modeling Tutorials
Has anyone tried the newest version of Blender, which is 2.65? I could not get it to set up the way I had 2.63. I guess the modeling was about the same, though some very familiar controls were slightly changed. It was when I went to unwrap, and texture when I hit a wall. I mean that nearly literally...
