The 'y'-key only works when the missiles are displayed. So it doesn't work when you have a target locked. You have to unlock it first ('u') and then can switch missiles. The energy bomb is triggered by the '9'-key, which is in fact a strange bug (there is a thread about that somewhere), because acco...

But why bother to scoop the Thargons? IMHO it is far better to shoot them, because each one gives you a bounty of 50 cr (you can't get that much more if you sell them) AND is counted as a kill. So for each Thargoid Warship, which releases five Thargons, you get a total of 350 cr bounty and 6 kills. ...

IIRC the Funnelweb turns up only once. But why did you have to flee? When I did Ionics and encountered the Funnelweb there was a battle between the army and the rebels going on around it and I was pretty much ignored. So I had all the time in the world to take out the Funnelweb. (It helps a lot to g...

I'd like to come back to the topic, if I may. Talking about external views I should also mention that there is a small bug in Giles' code. Really nothing big, but did anybody ever notice that there a TWO "External View 3"? So the second one should get number 4 and so on, until the last one...

Can I ask a Mac user what he thinks about Apple's move away from Motorola CPUs and towards Intel - as an old time Amiga owner I have a softspot for Motorola cpus... Of course, it's a shame, and to be honest, I really hesitated to buy myself a new Mac - I mean, weren't "they"* THE enemy? :...

@ DH - Thanks for the Welcome!

And also thanks for liking my Avatar-Ship. It's the Orion, the ship from a German Cult-TV-Series of the 60's, "Raumpatrouille". It came back into the cinemas some time ago. Its Captain was - guess who... :)

It's awful and a shame that there's no 'marker bouy' equipment that you can dump to mark the location with an 'M' on an Advanced Space Compass.
Actually there is. I just found ettBeaconLauncher.oxp on oosat, but haven't tried it out yet.
