Re: Joystick recommendation for Windows 7 64-bit

If I recall correctly, the throttle cable terminates with a standard 3.5mm stereo plug, so an extension should be easy to do. This is a great piece of news... Helps building my scifi cockpit a tad easier. Got an inspiration from this thread . I dismantled an old gamepad and rewired the buttons to m...

Re: Joystick recommendation for Windows 7 64-bit

Ah, now my bloody Extreme 3D went and broke completely. I had to set a 60% deadzone on all axes, quite useless now... I just ordered a Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X , it will probably arrive in early January. From what I've read it's a good, affordable entry-level HOTAS system. Only serious downside...

Re: The Hobbit

I went to see the movie yesterday with Mrs. Thermonuklear(she hasn't read the book yet o_O). Great movie, too much fighting and general mucking about though. I had a hard time to not think of Bad Taste/Braindead at times. I liked the beginning more than anything else, poor Bilbo and the looming thre...

Re: land ownership as reward for missions for Feudal lords?

Done right, this might be a potential solution for the perennial problem some Commanders have... what to do with the mountain of Credits they keep accumulating. Equipping stations is quite a fun game in itself... I'll tell you a little story: Some time ago I made some skillful trading dea...

Re: land ownership as reward for missions for Feudal lords?

Ioannis' suggestions sound like something from Mount & Blade . The gameplay gets very place-oriented when a lord presents you a fief or a castle of your own. There's always a siege coming, no more adventures around the map etc. Dare I say it was a bore! I loved roaming around the world battling ...

Re: BGS - The BackgroundSet

Ah-ha! I didn't notice to save my game after storing the configuration... Thank you! That did the trick. Now I can hear the Dalek commanding me "Docking authorization denied, leave now or be exterminated!" :D

Re: BGS - The BackgroundSet

I have a problem with the "radio chatter" option. I wanted to test a little soundpack I recorded for AudibleDockingClearance OXP, and the chatter made listening quite difficult. But no matter what twisted magicks I tried, the voices would not go away. When I access and change the settings ...

Re: Joystick recommendation for Windows 7 64-bit

Not a bad price... When I bought my Extreme 3D a few years back, the price was something around 30 €(~25£). It's a good stick, but issues axis-wise are bound to emerge. In my stick, the Z-axis started acting up after a while, X and Y shortly after that. Now I have a 15-20% deadzone on all axes. The ...

I made a small soundpack with Dalek-ish voices. The harsh, imperative tone makes you abide!

Re: Ooliteers Planet - An Interactive Pinmap

Ha, that's great to hear! And yes, the game is very enjoyable. Felt just like when I first played Elite in 1994... I was nine years old back then, didn't know a word of English, but still loved the game deeply. 3D graphics and all! On an Atari ST! Big stuff, I had mostly played Tapper on my ZX Spect...

This game looks very promising. Hopefully Notch makes an attempt to optimize his code this time around... Thinking his earlier resource hog of a game(Minecraft), I feel a bit worried. :D

Hello. I took the liberty of adding myself to the pinmap, even though my account is only minutes old.
The forum seems friendly enough to hang out often, so why not... I've heard talk that this is the nicest message board this side of Riedquat.
