Re: The U.S. election - the aftermath
...Secure what matters. Increase in spending for the army and for support services for veterans. A good emperor knows that if you look after the praetorian guard, your chances of getting a knife in the back decreases rapidly. His chances of accomplishing that are not good either. There is no cure f...

Re: First kills
My commander has changed tactics. He no longer relishes destroying hostiles preferring rather to discourage them. This has been a boon for his courier trade.

Re: Why is Diso so Dangerous
On the other hand, veterans know both the ropes of the game and OXPs, so they can easily customize the game. If you mean by customize to make the game less difficult, then I would have to add that some of us veterans actually prefer to make it harder. At one point I customized the game so all NPC's...

Re: Why is Diso so Dangerous
Sorry for the harsh tone, but this is terrible game design - unless you don't give a frack about something called "player retention". You have a right to your opinion of course but I wouldn't call it a terrible game design. I played Elite back in the day which is why Oolite was like findi...

Re: Why is Diso so Dangerous
I reckon Qutiri/Isinor makes a better first trade route, which is not so far away - try there? The Tionisla / Isinor route may be even safer though the distance is a bit farther. I've found Qutiri, being a multi-government world, can be rather dangerous for a Jameson. Carry a few canisters of cheap...

I Couldn't Resist
North American winters are the worst and this year is no exception. After clearing this section of sidewalk, I had a Star Wars inspiration: The Death Star trench made of snow.

Re: After a Cobra MkIII, what ship?
Trading is secondary to my career as a courier. Still the best 'Hunk of Junk' in the eight. <nods twice> Aye and aye! I had an extra energy bank fitted in my late-model MK III at a private shipyard. Otherwise, Spindrifter is standard (I think). I keep meaning to try PHKB's though - what would losin...

Re: After a Cobra MkIII, what ship?
Some time ago I traded down (just slightly) to the Cobra 3. Then I took her to PHKB's Ship Configuration garage. There I had them upgrade the shields, engines, and energy plant at the cost of cargo space. Trading is secondary to my career as a courier. Still the best 'Hunk of Junk' in the eight.

Re: Screenshots
I don't recall ever releasing any station texture variants, but then I've lost a chunk of time. I don't remember how to package an OXZ to make it available for the Expansion Pack Manager. I believe I used to have a member account over at oolite.org but accessing that may also be a problem. I did mod...

Re: Feudal Systems
Need to first land on a Feudal State planet (e.g. Digebiti) and sign up. It would seem from his post that iperich did just that. I have never played the Feudal States OXP but someone who has may be able to help. May need to press function key F4, Ship and Station Interfaces key, when docked with Ro...

Re: Screenshots
The altitude indicator on your HUD has me bemused. Don't remember seeing a main station that close to a planet. Some logical explanation, I wouldn't wonder?Frame wrote:Still tinkering. Freespace inspired HUD. Tinkering with FOV. The small model is yellow shaded and is moving like the target.

Re: [RELEASE] Povray Planets 1.0
Yes the gas giants. It would be ideal if these where not main planets in Povray. Or that the main planet was a moon of the gas giant. When I was tinkering with re-texturing System Redux's planets, I simulated Isinor as the moon of a gas giant. I positioned one of SR's moons some ways beyond Isinor ...
