Ruthless, DH, ruthless. Ramming indeed! Do you recall a joystick glitch in Elite Plus. I had to use a combo of stick and keyboard control to reach Elite status. After some time at that level, there was a silly promotion where "Commander Whatever" became "Archangel Whatever". Alas...

Zevans Actually I was thinking of Elite Plus…anyone remember that? I still have it on 3.5 floppy and occasionally run it in DosBox. I’m sure that had coloured suns and the occasional double. It also had a ninth galaxy, I think. I also have Frontier Elite II on 3.5 floppy. I’ve tried many times over ...

Thanks DH

My HD 3650 is working OK but it doesn't seem to get subtle colours.

An OXP I'd like to have

At the moment I'm running three OXP's:
System Redux
Fighter Hud
Target Reticle
These I consider essential. However, I'd like to see different-coloured suns
and maybe the occasional binary system.

Have recently updated the drivers for my HD 3650 to 9.6. Behold, stars and nebulae. Maybe ATI are back on track.

Maybe I'll try it. I ought to become more familiar with Linux anyway.
Is Oolite okay on Suse 10.1 64-bit?

Way ahead of its time.

Linux or Windows for Oolite

Question!

Does Oolite 1.72.2 run any better in Linux (specifically Suse 10.1 64-bit)
than in Windows.

I am content: my GPU just woke up and I have stars, faint nebulae and a couple of OXP's.

Now, what was that someone said about "the greatest space-opera series of modern times" - there's a thread! I'll throw in the Foundation series. Or is that olden times?

Diziet. Me, compile trunk! Ha! I haven't compiled anything since I used to code COBOL, and that was eons ago, on an Apricot Xen. As an aside, COBOL was 50 years old a couple of weeks ago and it's still running BIG mainframes today. Robust code. I've gone on to v1.72.2 now: no stars, no nebulae, no p...

Svengali

My problem with 1.72.2 is the precision roll/pitch toggle.
With my old eyes, I need it!
