I never saw it used and don't have a problem with its removal now we have JS scripting.

I looked into this at the beginning of the year and it sounds like we may have hit upon a similar solution. See my post.

I'm enjoying the story but feel it could be easily improved if every occurance of "frak" was removed. Note I swear like a wharfie in real life so am not particularly shocked or offended by it. I just find it gets in the way of the story. I also don't like too many made up jargon or slang w...

Yes, you're drawing the nebula as part of the skybox before switching on depth culling. I didn't realise it was just an image.

I was thinking of trying to replicate how Infinity is doing them, using some sort of fractal approach. They look fabulous. But its more work than I can take on.

on that note...I just took a quick look at the equip file and noticed a section of items I hadn't seen before such as the Military jammer and military scanner filter...do they actually appear it the game (not including oxp's) or is it just something that is available for people who are making oxp's...

Re: I see what you're saying..

..Miangele. You're right of course. :) I just like stuff to be simple. My brain isn't very clever so I prefer stuff to be easy to understand ha ha ha. :) Deepspace will probably be a shadow of what Oolite currently is. But on the plus side it'll look nice, but thats about it LOL :) Why don't you ma...

Re: Traveller Oolite

2: Is it possible to change the starting position? I'd do this by creating a save game at the location you want to start at, and the ship, credits, and equipment you want to start with. Then load this up to start a "new game". The Win32 and Linux versions have a command line flag to load ...

No, I changed the code. The old code was looking in oolite.app/Contents/Resources, but some things always seemed to go in oolite.app/Resources and then when I saw the new logging code was trying to load its configuration from there I figured that was probably where things should have been all along....

Well, its good you did that. My implementation in the JS branch was tied to the refactoring of the equipment (so OXPs could add new equipment, not just missles), so isn't portable to the trunk.

Sorry, I assumed the textured planets were done in a shader because everything was going that way, and didn't bother to check one way or the other.

Oolite 1.68 test installer

Hi all,

I've just posted an installer for Win32 1.68. You can get it from here.

On my keyboard, the yaw keys are comma and period.

Let me know how it goes, particularly if you have an older graphics card.

Edit: modified URL to highlight right package. -- Ahruman

I'm just testing the 1.68 exe for Win32 and it seems Giles' texturing code works there too, if you have the hardware (which I finally do now work has given me a new laptop).

My initial thought about the "pressor" is how does it work? It is easy to apply a force to an object to get it moving in a straight line, but then I don't think this is actually what you want. I'm guessing you want the thing being pushed to change direction with you etc. This would be poss...

No, that's not going to happen. You should look around at other moddable space games if you want to do a total conversion.

Cloud formations work because planets are drawn differently to ships.
