This changes post 1.52 because the program changes from a GNUstep app build style to an Objective-C program build style (and jetissons AppKit at the same time). But there are a few fixes I need to back port into 1.52 so this may be one. I am not sure what you ment, but backporting changes to 1.52 m...

Yes, Sarge on a Sempron 2200+ (i686).

I won't hold my breath on a new release getting only the apt-list though, it's still on KDE 3.3.4 ;)
And it will stay like that. That is the Debian way of dealing with the stable releases.

I was talking about an unofficial package.

The problem there is that it would require a custom license, which requires writing legalese. There are existing licenses which are written for this purpose. The Bistream Vera fonts' license is written in such a way. On the other hand, it would enable transitioning to a license designed for softwar...

So far no luck; both the warning and the 'lines' keep occuring. * tried using gnustep-startup-0.13.0 * updated the rest of the system (switched to x.org and gcc 4) I'll keep digging, though currently no ideas. For completeness my system specs: OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI R200 20040929 OpenGL v...

How do you feel about changing the file layout like this? ~/.oolite/ ~/.oolite/saves ~/.oolite/.firstrun This would allow using a ~/.oolite/playlists folder for my purpose without adding another directory to $HOME. May I say this is sick? Having a dot-file under a dot-directory doesn't make any sen...

Oh, wait, you are running Debian Sarge, right?

I will have to backport the package, in that case.

BUG: Info-Oolite.plist should be in the Oolite not -data

Hello all, While packaging Oolite for Debian I found that the file Info-Oolite.plist was missing from the Oolite package. The application (IIRC) refused to compile without this file, so I took it by hand from the -data package and placed it in the binary package. I know that, actually the file in qu...

Ahh. In that case, the license is indeed in direct conflict with guideline #1. That brings me to the thought that the license could be changed in such a way to allow distribuition in a compilation (with other games), but not by itself. That is because the guildeline #1 says: The license of a Debian...

The non-free (in the FSF sense) aspect of Oolite’s license is the prohibition on commerical use, Here we are interested in the Debian Free Software Guidelines free ;-) So far as I can see this shouldn’t be a problem as long as the package isn’t distributed on for-pay CDs, although I see why an appr...

non-powerpc builds delayed

Hello all, Sorry for the misleading information about the package being available later. The truth is that the packages in the non-free section must be white listed in order to allow autobuilding. This is due to probable issues with licensing terms that might not allow building a package for other t...

eddyp: I guess you're the Debian guy who's picked up this mantle :-) Right :-) I have a passion for this game since I was playing it on spectrum ;-) some 12 years ago. It's great to see that Oolite is getting supported in Debian. Note the next stable version should be easier for you to package - it...
