Re: Recovering "Lost" OXPs

It's been quite a while since my last visit, but this thread is one of the first I noticed. I've uploaded my oxp ships (Wolf's Variants) on Google Drive. I also attached the so-called neolite variants made by SimonB, but I cannot naturally give his permission for him. For my part, the work I did wit...

Re: Star Wars - The Force Awakens

Yes, there were similar plot elements to the original Star Wars, but there was enough new as well. Anyone claiming that this as a remake... well, I cannot understand them.

Re: Star Wars - The Force Awakens

Hard to believe no one here is talking about the new film. I got to see it last night and I must say that - overall - I enjoyed it very much. There were a few plot holes and silly "What!?" scenes, but I decided to ignore them and just enjoy the characters and their story. Very happy to see...

Re: The Martian

I only read the novel after seeing the film, but this is my review of it (originally posted on Goodreads): This had been waiting in my TBR pile for a long time, but I simply had to dig it up after seeing the excellent film. For the most part, the novel answered to my expectations, but it also brough...

Re: David Braben's Elite: Dangerous

In Oolite for example, you can make your own stories up, like starting with a nice ship, no money, and a wopping great fugitive status, as if you'd just stolen a ship. (one of my start points :D ) whereas in ED, you're stuck with their story, which I've failed to engage in at all as yet. I don't re...

Or was it the publisher's?
Publisher makes these sorts of decisions. We just see the end result and perhaps get to comment if we spot major problems. Still, I'm very happy with all 5 covers and especially so with the anthology cover! :)

Re: David Braben's Elite: Dangerous

Yup, I ignored most threads before this and I continue to ignore even more of them now. Silly stuff, but unfortunately very common on online forums.

I've tried it. Had just as many crashes, if not more, than before. It has apparently helped some others, though...

Re: David Braben's Elite: Dangerous

2) There's no mechanism in Oolite to do the extremely complicated rotational and translational manoeuvres needed to keep your ship positioned relative to the station's reference frame once you move off-axis - which get harder the further off-axis you get. It looks really impressive but it feels a v...

Re: David Braben's Elite: Dangerous

How's everyone been getting on with the alpha? any more news on future updates? I haven't actually touched the alpha since the first 2 weeks or so. Took a break for Christmas and never felt the need to go back afterwards (then I got ill and gaming was not really on the menu at that point). I did ge...
